About the Course
Welcome to the ERASMUS+ teacher training course on alternative assessment in modern classrooms!
During this 6-day course, which will be delivered in Berlin, Amsterdam, Zagreb or Osijek, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced educators who have successfully implemented alternative assessment methods in their own classrooms, and will have the chance to develop and practice your own assessment techniques. The course will also cover a range of topics, including how to design and implement alternative assessments, how to use technology to support assessment, and how to provide feedback and support to students.
Alternative assessment is a type of assessment that goes beyond traditional methods such as exams and quizzes. It allows teachers to evaluate students' learning in a more comprehensive and authentic way and provides a more holistic view of student learning: Alternative assessment methods, such as portfolio assessment and self-assessment, allow teachers to see a broader range of a student's work and abilities, rather than relying on a single exam or quiz. This can provide a more accurate and complete picture of what students know and can do.
Alternative assessment methods can also be more engaging for students because they often involve authentic tasks and activities that are relevant to the real world. This way, teachers can encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills in their learners, rather than simply recalling facts.
Different methods and processes of alternative assessment allow for flexibility in the assessment process, as they can be tailored to the needs and goals of a specific class or group of students that is meaningful and relevant to their needs.
